DOLLY
The Dolly lash style, often called the Open Eye look, is designed to create the appearance of larger, brighter eyes. This effect is achieved by placing the longest lash extensions at the center of the lash line and gradually shortening the lengths toward both the inner and outer corners. The balanced, symmetrical design naturally draws attention to the middle of the eye.
This style is especially flattering for clients with wider-set eyes because it enhances openness without emphasizing the distance between the eyes, unlike a Cat Eye style. It also complements almond-shaped eyes by giving them a softer, rounder appearance. However, the Dolly style may not be the best choice for clients with naturally round eyes or eyes that are close together. Since it emphasizes the center of the eye, it can make the eyes appear even rounder or create the illusion that they are positioned closer together.

Cat Eye
The Cat Eye lash style is one of the most popular and frequently requested looks because of its dramatic, elongated effect. Unlike the Dolly style, which focuses attention toward the center of the eye, the Cat Eye shifts emphasis outward, creating the appearance of length and lift.
This design is achieved by starting with shorter lengths near the inner corner and gradually increasing the lash length toward the outer corner. To protect the natural lashes at the very edge of the eye, lash artists commonly step down the extension length by at least two sizes in the outermost section while still maintaining the signature winged finish that resembles a cat-eye eyeliner look. Although this style is highly sought after, it is not universally flattering. On certain eye shapes particularly eyes that naturally turn downward or have a drooping outer corner the added length at the edges can exaggerate that feature and create a sad or tired appearance. Careful eye-shape assessment is important to determine whether a Cat Eye style will enhance the client's features or if another mapping style would be more suitable.

Fox Eye / Extreme Cat Eye
The Fox Eye, also known as the Extreme Cat Eye, is a more dramatic take on the traditional Cat Eye style. While both designs create a sleek, winged appearance by concentrating the longest lash extensions toward the outer corners, the Fox Eye pushes this effect even further for a sharper, more elongated finish.
To achieve this look, shorter lash lengths are maintained across a larger portion of the lash line before transitioning into noticeably longer extensions near the outer edge. This mapping creates a striking, lifted effect that mimics the appearance of extended winged eyeliner and gives the eyes a narrower, more sculpted shape.
Because this style places so much emphasis on the outer corners, it is best suited for clients whose eye shape naturally supports an elongated look. It is generally not recommended for clients with wide-set eyes, as it can make the eyes appear even farther apart. Likewise, clients whose natural lashes or outer eye corners point downward may find that a Fox Eye accentuates the downward angle rather than creating a lifted appearance. In these cases, selecting a different lash map will usually produce a more flattering result.

Natural
The Natural lash style is designed to enhance the client's eyes by following the pattern of their natural lash line. It shares some similarities with the Squirrel style but creates a softer, more understated effect. Rather than placing the longest extensions directly toward the center of the eye, the peak typically begins around the inner edge of the iris and extends slightly beyond the outer edge, blending smoothly with the client's natural eye shape.
This mapping uses a smaller range of lash lengths, resulting in a gradual transition instead of a dramatic peak. The subtle changes in length create a balanced, effortless appearance that enhances the eyes without looking overly styled.
A Natural lash map is often considered a blend of the Dolly and Squirrel styles. It combines the balanced appearance of a Dolly set with the gentle lift of a Squirrel map, making it an excellent option for clients who want a soft, everyday look that complements their natural features.
